Strawberry Banana Pudding
Ingredients
2½ cups cold milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tub whipped topping, 8 oz, or homemade whipped cream
1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 oz
1½ cups sliced strawberries
1½ cups sliced bananas
1 package vanilla wafer cookies, about 12 oz
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk the instant vanilla pudding mix with the cold milk. Stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture stand for about 5 minutes until thickened.
Prepare the cream mixture
In a separate bowl, fold the whipped topping or homemade whipped cream into the pudding. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix until smooth and fully combined.
Layer the pudding
In a large serving dish, such as a trifle bowl or a 9×13-inch dish, place a layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom. Add a layer of the pudding mixture, followed by sliced bananas and strawberries. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of pudding on top.
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight if possible, to allow the flavors to blend and the pudding to set.
Before serving, garnish with additional sliced strawberries and bananas or a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers.
