Old-Time Oven Peach Cobbler
Don’t Lose This Recipe 
Ingredients
4 cups peeled & sliced fresh peaches (or canned, drained)
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup milk (this is the traditional missing ingredient)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the peaches:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine peaches, ½ cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
Cook for about 5–8 minutes, stirring gently, until peaches release juices and sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Make the batter:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining ½ cup sugar.
Stir in the milk until just combined (do not overmix).
Assemble the cobbler:
Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish (do not stir).
Pour batter evenly over the butter (do not stir).
Spoon peaches and their juices evenly over the batter (again, do not stir).
Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
Cool slightly before serving.
Serving Tips
Best served warm
Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
