Cheesy Beef & Caramelized Onion Burger
Ingredients (2 burgers)
For the beef filling
300 g ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
2 tbsp beef stock (or water)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
For the burger
2 brioche burger buns
2 slices melting cheese (provolone, mozzarella, or Swiss)
Butter for toasting buns
Instructions
Caramelize the onions
Heat olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and cook slowly for 8–10 minutes until soft and golden.
Add Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce, stir, and set aside.
Cook the beef
In the same pan, add ground beef.
Break it up gently and cook until browned.
Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Add beef stock and simmer 2–3 minutes until saucy and glossy.
Add the cheese
Place cheese slices directly on the hot beef mixture.
Cover the pan for 30–60 seconds until cheese melts perfectly.
Toast the buns
Lightly butter the buns and toast until golden.
Assemble
Bottom bun → cheesy beef & onion mixture → top bun.
Press gently and serve hot.
